My paintings are non-representational (non-objective) but not abstract, because my art is neither planned nor precise, like exercises in the abstractions of logic or geometry. I embrace ambiguity and controlled accident. I reject anything even remotely resembling conventional objects. I leave the question of what will emerge until the end. As a result, each colored canvas is unique, not in the slightest degree representational or narrative, but embodied in a purely pictorial language, filled with amorphous shapes just at the periphery of recognition. Since everything on the canvas influences how we see every other, the unplanned beauty of color juxtaposition, texture, splatter and flow carry aesthetic content, singly and in relation to one another.
